A how-to-book for trainers & teachers training
The 13 principal authors of this book, along with the many others cited and referred to, d set out to produce a comprehensive work of international quality. It was decided that sound theory and academic background, properly adaptivized to the local socio-cultural environ- ment, was not enough. There was need for an added factor. The materials had to be strong in terms of actual practice, experience, and applicability. It should cover both simple and complex cases. This proper and creative mix of training concepts ands designs with hand-on applications and proven track record is the focus of this collaborative work. The cases cited here have been used in the Philippines and various Asian countries, as conceived and implemented by the authors themselves. Because the chapters have been written by different specialists and practitioners, there is a trend towards a repetition of subject matters and basic points of emphasis and principles. We are positive about this pattern. It indicates the strength of certain concepts and practices, and their duplicative value in a variety of environments and training situations. It also demonstrates the high practicability, proven experience, and similar notions on various training approaches by the different authors. From a learning viewpoint, this pattern of reiteration of key points facilitates the absorption capability of trainees of critical compo-nents that really count. The writers come from a variety of institutions and practices: from the government sector, education sector, private business, state and private universities, and international management consultancy.
